Cell Phone Battery Chargers?

Here's a last minute question - as we're packing!

Does anyone know if cell phone batteries are allowed in hand luggage? We're planning to take iHome battery chargers; these are charged with an electrical plug, then used with a USB to charge cell phones when no electricity is available. I've found many pages describing batteries, but none that address this kind.

Thanks for any insights!

They haven't stopped me yet. Your mileage may vary.

I have packed a spare charger for my phone in my carryon luggage. I do not know if that applies to larger chargers.

I just returned from a trip where I took my portable charger along. At Heathrow, I had to take out my IPad Mini, but not my charger. I always put it in my carry on and haven't had a security issue, yet.

They don't want certain kinds of batteries in checked luggage; they're fine in carry-on luggage. So, your iHome chargers are fine in your carry-on; if you have to check that bag for any reason, be sure to remove the iHome before surrendering it (on my last few flights, the announcements were quite emphatic on this point).
