CDG to Paris Transfer with Children

Hello! I have an overnight layover in Paris and rather than staying at an airport hotel, I have booked a room at the Hotel Eber Mars (just so we can walk to the Eiffel Tower). Our flight arrives at 7:30 pm and leaves the next day at 10:30am. I am trying to decide if I should take a taxi or use the RER. **I will be traveling with three children ages 15, 12, and 10; so there are four of us all together. We will not have luggage. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I'm just going to have a carry-on bag with some essentials in it- I know we probably won't be looking very "fresh." Our luggage is being checked in at Beirut and going directly to Cleveland.
Thanks everone for your help- it is most appreciated.......

Julie.. We go toParis regularly and have not used the RER so I can only comment on a cab. Because we always have luggage... my husband is a photographer.. and takes quite a bit of stuff, we like to take a cab. One thing you need to know about a cab is that you should reserve one ahead of time at the hotel... however, they will not reserve one during rush hour so you will have to go very early.. about 6 AM. If you are going on Saturday or Sunday, it may be different. You might want to email the hotel if you do decide to take a cab.... since the night person may be on duty at the hotel.

Thanks, Jane..........as far as a taxi, is there a flat rate or is it per person or just metered? I am afraid of "roaming" drivers and a hefty cab fare.

Ask the concierge at your hotel about reserving a taxi. He would be able to help you with the fare.

If you take the RER and Metro, all four of you will have to buy adult tickets at €8.40/ticket.

The official Paris taxis are metered. The fare is the same for 1-3 passengers and there is a surcharge of €2.60 for a 4th adult passenger.

I always suggest staying in the city center. However for your particular late arrival and early departure and for ease of traveling, I would just book a room at the hotel that is directly connected to CDG...I think it's a Sheraton. I would check-in, drop my bags and jump on the train to downtown. Stay out late, see the sights at night, have dinner and then return to your hotel after your excursion. Then you can just wake up the next morning ALREADY at the airport and not have to worry about hauling luggage and children on the train or in a taxi.

To me that sounds like the least stressful way of handling your situation.
