What's the best way to get from the CDG airport to the Paris St. Lazare train station? Thanks!
Best as in easiest, cheapest or fastest? You can take the RER into Paris, get out at Gare du Nord transfer RER line E direction Gare St Lazare,, or just walk outside Gare Du Nord and grab a taxi from taxi stand( will run about 10-12 euros). Easiest is taking taxi from CDG, will run about 45-50 euros( this is not a bad deal for 3 or more people since RER is 11 or 12 euros anyways,, so its not alot more to just take a cab
)
Thanks for the information Pat. I should have specified...we are looking for the easiest since we will be arriving on a red eye and I'm sure will be exhausted.
Take a taxi.. its really the easiest, and since we all spend thousands on our trips,, even those of us on a budget, whats another 50 euros to start off without being stressed out. Taxi stand is easy to find at CDG, do not go with any taxi driver who solicts you,, they are not licensed and have been known to cheat people, the ones at the taxi stand are honest and metered. They will charge one euro over meter rate for extra luggage( per bag) and they also charge 2-3 euros for 3rd or 4th passenger.
Ride will vary from 35-55 minutes, all depends on traffic.
We are coming with a group of 6. Will Parisian taxis be able to take us?
Nope, even the minvan style taxis are only required to take five, but will sometimes take six, but would have no room for even minimal luggage. Pat's numbesr look pretty good. You can either get two taxis for about a hundred euro total or use something like Grey Shuttle (it has eight passenger vans) and all ride together for the same price. If you start googling around make sure you read carefully for something like '8 pax' and not '8 seats' or you'll wind up in a luggage pickle. (Eight seats includes the driver's, leaving precious room for stuff.)
A note specifically for Will. For the record, the current fare for CDG to Haussmann - St-Lazare (RER B from CDG to Gare du Nord and RER E from Magenta to Haussmann - St-Lazare) is €9.25. That's a total of €55.50 for the six of you which isn't much more than what one taxi will cost - and you'll definitely need two.
