I land at 9:40 am on a Monday in June. I have rented an apartment that is near Gare Montparnasse (300m away). There will be 2 of us and we plan to have carry on bags only (backpacks). My question is, taxi or private car? The price for the private car is 70 euros and I'm not too surprised at the cost. My biggest worry is having to navigate through the airport to a train station and I do not speak the language, nor do i want to worry about getting lost after the long flight (adrenaline keeps me awake on planes!) So I don't prefer the train/metro option until I am comfortable with the system. Will a taxi be cheaper? Also, if I go the private car route, what is a recommended tip for the driver? Thanks for any advice!

Thanks for the reply Bets. I figured the cost would be about the same and a taxi might even be more depending on traffic. Think I will go with the private car.

You could take Air France bus #4 directly from CDG to Gare Montparnasse (one stop at Gare de Lyon). Buses run every 30 minutes. These are highway buses and bags go in the luggage bay. The fare is €17.00 if bought at CDG and €15.50 if bought online.
