I've read the posts about taking the RER-B to a station and then a metro stop but what about taking the Air France bus option to Gare de Lyon? It sounds pretty straightforward. Any concerns?

No concerns other than increased cost. The fare from CDG to anywhere in central Paris on the RER and Metro is €9.25. The fare for Air France bus #4 is €17.00 (€15.50 if bought in advance online). Then you still have to get from Gare de Lyon to your hotel.
