CDG to Gare de Lyon or Bercy

Flying in to CDG, then train to Beaune. Much cheaper to take train from Gare de Lyon or Paris Bercy rather than train from airport.

In a previous post I received great advice about How to take the train from CDG to Gare de Lyon, but I see there is also a train from Bercy station to Beaune that might fit our schedule better.

My question is how to get to Bercy from airport. I looked at Rome2Rio and it looks like it's a bit more difficult.

Anyone out there done this? Help and suggestions appreciated.

Thank you

Bercy station is behind Gare de Lyon. It is walkable with light luggage, but otherwise take the No 14 Metro one stop from Gare de Lyon. It has elevators and/or escalators at both stations.

The TER from Bercy is a slower train, taking 3 1/2 hours to do what could be done with the TGV to Dijon in a little over 2, but it is a lot cheaper, especially for an anytime price.

Yes, as Sam correctly points out, once you've made it to Gare de Lyon, you've practically made it to Gare de Bercy.

Thanks for the info. Will wait and decide after our plane lands.

This is a case where Google Maps is probably more helpful than Rome2Rio.

Here’s the difference: Bercy trains are local, stopping at every station along the line. No food, but the bathrooms work. It’s looong and boring. My in-laws lived on one of those endless lines. But it might be interesting for you to see the local sights and these small towns. I don’t remember much food to buy at Bercy, just a vending machine. I don’t remember if there are places for suitcases—just put them on a seat.

Gare de Lyon has the high-speed trains with reserved seats. It may (not guaranteed) have a sandwich/coffee bar in the train. The station also has multiple sandwich, quiche, salad bars where you can buy food and drink for the train. It’s faster.

Thanks Laura for the tip about Google maps. I didn't realize it showed train information within a city. I've used it often for walking and driving directions, but never noticed the train icon. Just always went to Rome2Rio.

Gosh I love learning new things on this forum!
