CDG to Avignon via TGV

I am arriving at CDG on Sunday 10/7/07 (via Air France at 8:20 am). How do I reach the TGV for my trip to Avignon? Can I purchase my train ticket before I leave the US? How long will it take to clear immigtion/customs because I plan to take the 11:50 am to Avignon? I already have car rental and hotel confirmations for my stay in Provence. I will make my base in St.Remy. Is there anyone familiar with the Hotel Villa Glanum?

Thanks

When I searched Rail Europe to find out what train station you'd be leaving from, searching simply "Paris" to "Avignon" on October 7, I found a train at 11:20 a.m. from the Gare du Lyon, but none at 11:50. If this is the train you mean to catch, you can catch an Air France Coach (not limited to passengers of Air France) between CDG and Gare Lyon so that you can catch your train. I think it comes every 30 minutes. Anyway, you should have enough time to clear customs and get to the train station.

I don't know if you'd have to buy your ticket before getting to the station - I assume that October would be far less crowded and it looks like trains leave very often to Avignon.

The TGV station at CDG is located at Terminal 2 and Air France uses Terminal 2. See this helpful site: www.easycdg.com. You should allow about an hour to clear immigration and claim your luggage. If you book your ticket well in advance (up to 90 days allowed) at sncf.com, you may be able to get PREM'S (discount) tickets. Click on the British flag in the lower left-hand corner to view the site in English. Enter Roissy as the departure station. Leave France as the default country. If you get a PREM'S, print it yourself. Do NOT choose cancellation insurance. If you have to pay full fare, choose the option of picking up the tickets at the station or a SNCF boutique.
