I am flying into CDG on Delta (Air France codeshare) and will arrive in terminal 2E. I searched & can't find a really good map of the terminal. I believe it is a two level terminal and you arrive on the lower level and services are on the upper level. Does anyone know which level passport control is on? Also I need to find a phone to make a tollfree call to my shuttle service. Will it be difficult to find a public phone in this age of the cell? I was thinking if I couldn't find a phone before the secure exit I could go to an information booth and ask them.
Hi Laurie, check out this link for the map of 2E at CDG: http://www.aeroportsdeparis.fr/ADP/en-GB/Passagers/Access-maps-car-parks/Paris-CDG/maps/ 2E, one of the recent terminals at CDG consists of two buildings, connected by a small shuttle train. Most likely, on Delta, you arrive at the building, where there is no need to take this shuttle into the arrival halls. All immigration clearance and luggage collection is rightfully done on the lower level. Once outside the terminal, look for the Information desk. There are public phones around the terminal, but probably you're better off starting at the Information desk to inquire about how to make a tollfree call. Bon voyage!
CDG 2E arrivals are very easy! Secure exit? No need to worry. You are free to re-enter the airport and roam the halls at will. (Except for departing flight security of course). There are lots of public phones. Just be sure you have the Paris toll-free number, not the one you call from the US. The US number will NOT work in CDG. Bon Voyage! By the way, there's NOTHING easy about a CDG departure so, be sure to arrive 3 hours before flight time.
Laurie, the one and only time we used a shuttle into Paris, we were told to phone them before we picked up our luggage. There were public phones in the luggage collection area.
Thanks, Norma, that was precisely the information I needed. I will have no checked luggage, but will definitely look for the phone there. I think they they will meet me with a sign as soon as you exit the door inside the terminal where people wait for family and friends. That is why I didn't want to be wandering around the terminal looking for a phone.
Thanks, Michael. Yes, I had found that map, but it didn't appear to give me the information I was looking for.
Hi Laurie, you're right. The map is not so detailed. But, please check out this link - should be more helpful: http://www.paris.com/paris_charles_de_gaulle_airport/terminal_maps there you'll find all downloadable maps of the individual terminals at Paris CDG good luck again:-)
Eileen, too funny.....I remember last June when I was transferring to a flight to Venice at CDG and there were shops and cafes all over the place, but finding a bathroom was a real challenge. The terminal is not big on the practical stuff, but with all that glass it is really attractive.
Ummm, you do realize those are the same maps ;-) I was going to say, 'What? Are you kidding me?!? Those maps are almost TOO detailed! If you can't find what you're looking for, it doesn't exist LOL!' In the first post, you need to SELECT a terminal...et voila!
Yeah - and just because the toilets (or whatever) are marked on the map doesn't mean you'll find them there... to say CDG has been in a constant state of construction flux for years is quite the understatement...;-) Everytime I'm there it's like a different airport! What could be more fun?!? (that's me trying to be positive)
