Cathy Pacific Airlines

I am flying from LA to Hong Kong on Cathy Pacific. Leave at 1AM and arrive at 7:30 AM. What is best time to sleep? When and what meals are served?

This is a Europe board. I suggest you go over to Trip Advisor and ask your question on their Asia board. Or try the boards at either Frommers or Fodors.

Phyllis, I will say that the best time to sleep is the week before your flight, and I don't mean that to sound flippant or sarcastic...I've only known one person who says he can sleep on long flights, and so now I'm no longer speaking to him LOL! Also, the airline website probably has info on the meals served; probably not WHEN, but...

LA - HKG will be about a 14-15 hr non stop flight going East and probably about 12 hrs on the return. On the long transpac flights you will generally get 2 full meals - 1 of which is served shortly after takeoff and I would guess the other will be served a couple of hrs before landing. There should also be lots of other food available in the galley area during the rest of the flight - things like noodle soup, sandwiches, chocolates, etc. Overall, you won't be hungry - at least not flying an Asian carrier. As to sleep, do it when you feel like it. You will still feel like a zombie when you get off the plane after that long a flight and after crossing these many timezones.
