I am trying to book train tickets on the SNCF website to avoid paying the higher costs of using RailEurope. But, next to the ages of the travelers there is a drop-down box that says "carte et abonnement". I am not sure if I should leave this as is or select something? Please advise. Thanks!

Christine, you can leave it as is you don't need to select something, carte et abonnenment means card and subscription, like if you have a senior, student, military card, or rewards card, etc. I quickly check and i think the rebate cards like student, family or seniors are only for French resident. Hope this helps!
