Anyone departed from Heathrow with wheeled carryons lately? Do the security screeners check bags for size? My bag is 23 inches, which is technically 1" too long according to the Heathrow website, but that length is OK with American Airlines. I've flown with it for 18 years, but I've heard the folks at Heathrow can be strict. Thanks.
Bo,
unfortunately they do check. I went through yesterday with my 23 inch carry-on and I was stopped by Heathrow "security" and made to go back to the counter and check it.
Ric - Were they limiting passengers to 1 carry-on item only at Heathrow yesterday?
Are the Heathrow screeners any less restrictive with those flying business or first class when it comes to size?
They've ended the one bag rule, but Heathrow screeners are still pretty picky about what counts as the second bag. Don't even think about a big one--only a purse, a small tote, or a briefcase is allowed.
I don't think the screeners care whether you're first class or steerage...
