Carry On Cost $$$

Heads up - if you fly economy airlines are starting to deny you a carry on (other than your one under seat item) unless you upgrade and that is an additional cost. Also if you do not get right in and chose your seats you may have to pay for a seat or a seat change.
I am talking here about airlines that just now made this change. Most recently United, which has never before done this because it has never before been a “budget” airline. These are not cheap seats. You are paying more then ever before for a new designation called “basic economy” .

easyJet started that way more than two decades ago. Lots followed, and the choices expanded, but always at extra cost. Some may reduce the number of choices under these strained conditions, but the policy of paying for everything is bedrock.

Yeah, been like that the whole time I've been traveling going back to my first RyanAir flight.

But I look at it as you get what you pay for. Some Airlines sell you a package (Ticket, Seat Selection, Baggage, Drinks, Food) for a price whether you choose to use those things or not. You could argue...Gee, if I do not want a bag, I should get a cheaper rate...well, economy airlines offer that.

I really do not get some of the complaints about RyanAir. I see comments on here like "Well checking a bag costs more than the seat". Yeah, You paid 30 euro for the seat, then maybe 40 euro for the bag, so 70 euro...darn cheap to fly. Those same people pay 200 euro for the same route on another carrier that comes with a checked bag and they are happy as clams, don't get it.

All I can suggest is price out what you need, add on where needed, and compare total price, don't get hung up if a bottle of water is an extra 2 euro charge.
