my wife and I travel by car throughout Europe 1-2 times/year. Looking for interesting places in northern France and Germany 1st 2 weeks of November 2013. Belgium & Amsterdam on the list too. Going in & out of CDG. Thanks....

Can you clarify? Did you mean northern France and adjacent areas of Germany, or are you interested in northern areas of both countries? I ask because if you look on a map, you will see that much of northern France aligns with southern and central Germany, whereas what we consider northern Germany lies at much higher latitudes.

Tom, yes I see your point. I guess I meant north-central Germany. Our current plan is to fly to CDG rent a car head west to the coast, then north thru Belgium, Netherlands, north-central Germany, south toward Luxembourg, northern France back to CDG. That said, we are flexible
