My husband and I want to take our 2 teenage children to Switzerland and Italy for 2 weeks this Christmas. We have both traveled in Europe often but my husband has not driven there in winter. How can we find info on routes we can take - Zurich to Florence - in which we could stay safely on main roads? We have no firm itinerary, wanting to stop as we find interesting places. We don't even know where to be on Christmas eve at this point....
