What is the best way to rent a car in Europe? We are a group of 4 traveling from Amsterdam all the way down to Rome in 14 days. I have looked up and see you can lease a Peugeot for 17 days? Any other options? Dave

You can do a similar lease with Renault. I believe that with either company you don't have to keep the car for the whole lease period, but you do have to pay for the whole period.

I did the lease through Auto Europe. You are correct that the minimum is 17 days, but I actually turned the car in after 15 days because I didn't want to have it in Paris and from there we were taking the Eurostar to London. We did have to pay for the 17 days, but it was far less than doing a traditional rental. The cost covered taxes, insurance, etc. No additional or hidden costs.
