Car rentals Amalfi Coast

I picked up a Hertz rental at the Naples train station. All went well

With traffic congestion, difficult driving conditions and parking that's hard to find along the Amalfi Coast, many avoid renting cars when going to that region. They use trains, private drivers, taxi's and ferries for the most part.

I enjoy a nice road trip as much as anyone. And I'm pretty willing to take on pretty challenging driving conditions (Marrakech, Japan...). But as beautiful as the Amalfi Coast is, you couldn't pay me enough to drive a car through there. I am very happy to leave the driving there to the professionals, I want no part of it. YMMV. I was very satisfied with Europcar in Salerno. I drove in February and it was fine (very little traffic, very few tourists), but I'm not a stranger to driving on narrow winding coastal roads.
