Planning a 3-week trip to Ireland. Want to rent a car for a self-drive tour. We’re 75 and 74 years old, very healthy and active. We heard that there may be problems renting at that age.. Any advice?

Over age 70 or 73, depending on the company, there are additional requirements and, possibly, require additional insurance. I would speak to a representative at AutoEurope, a consolidator highly recommended on this forum, to find out the facts. Their toll free number is 888-223-5555. In the past, I've found their reps to be very knowledgeable and helpful.

Also try dandooley.com, which is specific to Ireland and shows a wide range on the age-selector that you use when starting a price quote.
