We will be renting a car in Stralsund, Germany to visit Ruegen Island. While exploring rentals (no Hertz), I found that AARP had some good prices with AVIS. Has anyone used AARP for rentals? Do they have good insurance coverage?

If you see a rate that you think is good, book it as long as you can cancel. I like to shop around afterwards and want the flexibility of being able to cancel. The insurance is not through AARP, they are a link with a discounted rate. Insurance would be through AVIS if you choose, or your own personal car insurance, or a separate policy you can purchase for travel/car rentals.
