Car Rental - Munich

Hope everyone enjoyed th 4th.

We are flying in/out of Munich after Oktoberfest. Visiting Salzburg, Mittenwald, Giengen, and Munich. Plan to rent a car for entire trip except last 3 days in Munich. Is driving in Munich doable or should it be avoided as in Paris? Is it better then to rent car at airport, Hauptbahnof or other city location where rates should be lower. Staying at Hotel Uhland in Munich.

Appreciate any help.

Hi Dave, we rented a car last year in september too, we picked up from the hauptbahnof and had no trouble getting out of the city, there was a gps in the car thought.

Picking up a rental car at the Hauptbahnof is a reasonable option, as long as you are on your way out of the city. Otherwise, there's little good reason to drive in Munich.
