Car Rental Insurance - Confused

I will be renting a car in Ireland for 13 days in June, I am so confused over the insurance. I would like the peace of mind of having coverage that will cover everything. Please tell me what to purchase, thank you in advance, Mike

What you're looking for is often called "super CDW", additional insurance that brings your deductible down to a reasonable level (or to zero, depending on what you want to spend). As Steve mentioned, there are third party carriers, or you can buy super CDW at the rental counter.

The super CDW you buy at the counter will be expensive. The benefit of it, though, is that if anything happens, you just turn in the keys and walk away. Buying from a 3rd party is definitely cheaper, but you will have to pay the rental company their deductible and then be reimbursed by the insurance company. We did that this summer, took about 6 weeks to get the money.

So there's your options. You can choose whichever sounds best to you.

When I drove in Ireland I bought walkaway insurance.Complete coverage,no deductible. It was not badly priced and gave complete peace of mind.
