We want to rent a car in Munich. Our internet searches have led us to believe that car rental offices are IN Munich and not at the airport. We really wanted to avoid driving in & out of Munich, if possible. Does anyone have any suggestions or information? Thanks!

Check with gemut.com for good rates and service and also you can call them direct for any questions. You can pu at the Munich airport but there will be an extra charge for doing so.

Everyone knows the airport tax is always added to the rental fee on an auto. I request taking my car at another point to avoid this tax. Then I take public transportation to the office or hotel.
In Munich, your pickup point will probably not be far from the airport. Both pickup points will involve driving in some city traffic. Research your choices carefully.
When doing this, I have found that the dollar saving usually compensates for the small amount of city driving.
