I never had a problem renting in Italy after I hit 75 a few years back. Some rental companies might restrict by age but there is no law barring us from renting. If you go to the AutoEurope.com website, enter a potential rental and check the +75 box. You’ll still get available rentals. If you have problems, use their toll free phone number to speak with one of their knowledgeable customer service representatives.

The age requirements are set by the different auto rental companies. If one is a problem, check with others.

The US site for AuroEurope does not have a place to “tick the box” for over 75, as far as I can tell.

But in the black area at the bottom of the page, on the far right, there is a link to “rental car age requirements” which brings up this:

You can check the law country by country. According to this, Italy does not restrict over 75 drivers, but individual companies may require extra insurance for “Senior drivers”.

Checking a few other countries, I found only Ireland with restrictions on over-75 drivers.

Input your age on Autoeurope and the quote will include the insurance you require (choose third party or full on the next page).

They used to. Now it’s a 25-69 which replaced it. 👨🏻‍🦳
