Looking to go to Ireland not until next June so i have lots of time to plan, but i'm trying to figure out if driving or taking the trains over there? I have drove over there before but with my father and sister and this time will be with my daughter......anyone use the trains over there? do they stop in lots of towns? thinking about flying into shannon and drive to dublin. Thanks
Train routes in Ireland are fairly limited and getting from point A to point B often means backtracking through Dublin which is the hub for train service. If you choose not to drive, taking the bus will give you many more route and stop options--and it will be cheaper. See the Journey Planner on the Bus Eireann site.
