car rental in Ireland

We are planning a trip to Ireland and looking for a car rental location in Dublin with drop off in Rosslare to catch a ferry to UK. Any suggestions on the better car rental company with a location in Rosslare.
Thanks Paul

Have you tried to use Hertz's website for locations in Ireland? Or use Google.

Auto Europe is a consolidator that finds you the best rate from among the rental companies with which it has contracts. The AE site lists the Rosslare ferry port on its website.

Can't help you with that but just be sure to get CDW, your credit card will not cover accidents in Ireland.

Please be aware that in Ireland, at least the last time we were there, every driver must pay a separate fee for insurance (unlike in the U.S. where say a husband and wife are considered well, ah, one rental unit). So when pricing out rental cars make sure how much you will have to pay to have ALL driver's covered. Make sure you are specific in requiring this. CDW insurance is oh so a must. We found driving very pleasant and I've never been anywhere so friendly as in people going out of their way to be helpful, over and over and over. I presume you can also drive a clutch.

Irelandyes.com is a wonderful website full of info and you can ask the expert there (Michelle) specific questions. Based on all the info there we rented from Dan Dooley rental company and were very pleased. They tell you ALL the costs up front (the others do not usually), and they are not a broker like AutoEurope but a local Irish company - as our Irish friends say, Ireland needs the money! That said, we have rented with AutoEurope several ttimes in other countries and never had a problem. Julia in Vermont
