car rental in geneva

We want to rent a car from Geneva Airport in October. We fly from Nice to Geneva and leave a couple of days later from Geneva (french sector) to Paris. We will be flying EasyJet. Does anyone know if we would be flying into the French Sector and if you can rent a car from either Swiss side or French side? Seems cars are quite a bit cheaper to rent from the Swiss exit but not sure if we will be causing ourselves more trouble if we are switching from french side to swiss side.

Several years ago, we flew into Geneva. I wanted to rent the car on the French side because I was going to be returning it in northern France. We had no problem doing this. We merely walked to the French side of the airport and rented the car. Very easy to do. I'm sure you could go to the French or Swiss side to rent. I think we rented from AutoEurope. Check it out at www.AutoEurope.com Have fun on your trip.

Thanks, I think we will be renting from the Swiss side as it looks like the cost is significantly lower. I wanted to make sure that we would have no problem going from one side to the other.

Not sure if you know but you must have a swiss driving permit posted in the car. they run about $40 last time I rented.

Thanks, I really hadn't thought about it. I am assuming the permit is included in the rental as it was last year when we rented in Switzerland. I will double check just to be sure.
