Car rental for Spain

We went to Spain to years ago. We reserved a car from Easycar. Disaster. They have no personnel of their own at Madrid airport. We had to call them at our expense, and they alleged they had no record of our reservation and payment. It took 3 months after we got home to get a refund. Beware of Easycar!

I've had good luck over the last several years in Spain with carjet.co.uk. They're a broker and deal with whomever gives them the lowest price....for the past couple of trips, it's been Crown-Auriga car rentals, and I've never had any problems.

Liane, my wife and I spent time in Spain last Fall. The best deal I found was through Autoeurope.com - much less expensive than going to the Hertz, Budget, etc, websites. We picked up our car at the Valencia train station (we were assigned to Europecar) and returned it at the Granada airport. Our experience was all good.

We also had good luck with Europecar last fall in Spain.
