which car rental company is best when one is picking up a car in Prague and dropping it off in Italy?

The one that will not charge more than the value of the car to do that. Good luck finding one.

Marty, There are usually very high fees to rent a car in one country and drop-off in another. Are you sure this is the method you'd like to use? One other point to mention is that there are "issues" regarding driving in Italy, including having an IDP and avoiding ZTL areas. If you want details, post another note. Happy travels!
