We rented a car from the Florence train station in June 2024 with Italycarrent and everything was great. A few hints:
1. We paid 10 Euros extra (total not per day) for the Premium package - this allowed us to skip the line at the train station and go directly to the garage where we picked up the car and were on our way within 5-10 minutes or so.
2. I provided all of my paperwork to them online which also saved time at pickup.
3. The guy at the train station office initially said I had to wait in line, until I was a bit more insistent at which point he focused and directed me to the garage. My guess is that the wait at the train station was going to be about an hour or so otherwise.
I also bought their highest end insurance package, not sure whether it mattered or not as we did not have any problems.
When I emailed them as my rental time drew nearer, they were responsive and led me through everything I needed to send to them to make the process fast and easy.
My view was that if I bought all of their highest end add-ons the price was still pretty good. Turned out to be a good decision and the price was still in the range of more basic offerings with other car rental agencies.
