Can you pick up a car in France and drop it off in Barcelona, Spain?

Michael, Yes, but you may have to take out a bank loan to pay for it. There's typically a HUGE drop-off charge when renting a car in one country and leaving it in another. That's not an option I'd recommend. Cheers!

If you wanted to tour the south of France but had to be in Barcelona a few days later how would you do it?

Michael, In those circumstances, I'd rent a car for touring the south of France, and then return it at the airport in Nice. Take a budget flight from there to Barcelona. Cheers!

It's up to you to define the south of France. If you're over around Montpellier, you could dump the car at Perpignan and scoot down on the train. Alternatively, you could drive down; then drive back up to get rid of the car. It'd depend on where you're flying from if that's what's going on.
