Part of our planned trip to Great Britain involves using a rental car to access some rural areas. I'm curious as to whether it is common for car rental agencies to arrange car pickup and drop-off at rail stations.
I'm sure I can find out details when I start calling rental agencies, but I'm also interested in finding out your experiences with making alternative arrangements for picking up and dropping off rental cars at locations other than the rental company or an airport.
For our trip, we'll be arriving in Derby on the train, then we'll spend several days in the car, which we plan to drop off in Chester, from whence we'll resume traveling by train. I just hope that whatever car rental company we find will be accommodating enough to pick us up and drop us off at the train stations.
