Can you recommend Vueling or Easyjet for a fllight from Rome to Paris

I need to fly from Rome to Paris in May of next year-ONE WAY I am meeting my husband in Paris who is arriving at the Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG). I wanted to fly from Rome's airport (FCO) to Paris (CDG), but appears that this is nearly impossible (no direct flights) or very expensive. The alternative is flying to a different airport in Paris and meeting him at the hotel. I am checking into Vueling (89.99 E) or Easyjet ($95.00)which fly into Orly airport (ORLY). Can anyone recommend either of these airlines? I know nothing about their reputation or reliability. Any suggestions will help. What is the expense getting transportation to the City of Paris.
Thanks, MCS

Mary, I've never flown with Vueling, so can't comment on their service. However, I use EasyJet on a regular basis, and would absolutely recommend them. So far, every flight with them has been "easy". As with the other budget airlines, passengers are often packed in like sardines and baggage rules are fairly strict. They currently show one way fares as low as €44.49 (US$ 57.10) in May 2013. One point to note is that usually they only allow ONE carry-on item, of the approved size (and they DO check!). For transportation from ORY to Paris, have a look at the excellent Paris by Train website (costs are listed, but may be a bit out-of-date). One possibility would be to meet your husband at Gare du Nord, and then continue to the Hotel together (if the timing fits). Which area of Paris will you be staying? I'm not sure whether rail ticket Kiosks are provided at ORY, but if they're the same as CDG, they will ONLY accept "Chip & PIN" credit cards or Euro coins. If that's the case, you may have no choice except to queue at a staffed ticket office. The above website should have information on that. Bon Voyage!

One of mh best flying experiences was on Vueling from London to Bilbao. The absolute worst experience was also with Vueling - Madrid to Paris round trip...I purchased the tickets a month or so in advance...Vueling cancelled both flights and rebooked me on a later flight. The one from Madrid was originally set to leave at 2 pm, then 6 pm. We finally got off the ground at 8 pm. Taxi into the city of Paris will be about 50 euros.. Train is about 10 euros.

Mary I have flown on Easyjet and Vueling, and both were fine. Read the fine print, prepay for checked bag if in doubt. Both are reputable airlines. Both have good safety and reliabilty reps on flyer forums.
I personally would not use Ryanair , for various reasons.

Ah , one difference, small one, but it counts. On Vueling you are allowed one carry on, and one "personal item" ie:purse. But on Easyjet when they say one carryon, they mean one, you have to be able to shove your purse in your carry on bag. I know, and I did.

Paris Orly is closer to central Paris than CdG and is served by several easy routes into the city. Lots of information from the official airports site http://www.aeroportsdeparis.fr/ADP/en-GB/Passagers/Home/
Vueling and easyJet operate in very similar fashion. Choose the most convenient flight at a price you like. Prices generally rise as departure draws closer. All flights are one-way; round trip costs exactly double.

Easyjet say there is no weight limit on the one piece of hand baggage you are allowed but you must be able to lift it into the overhead locker by yourself.

Hello, I just wanted to add, from reading the Ron in Rome site, it isn't the easiest to get out to the FCO Rome airport using public transit. Some options are expensive or time consuming. You might want to check out the site for the best option for you if you haven't already figured it out yet.
Have a wonderful time.

@Tania, I find it's very easy to get from Roma Termini to FCO using the Leonardo Express. It's a short 35 minute ride, the cost is ~€14 PP, and there are no worries about traffic. Cheers!
