We are thinking of staying our last night in Milan close to the Central Rail Station. We would like to do the Opera that night. Our Flight to Frankfort leaves Malpensa at 6:55 am. From what I can tell, The first bus to leave for the airport is about 4:30 am and is a 50 minute trip. I need to carch that flight because it is the first leg for our trip home and I already only have a 3 hour layover in Frankfort. What would your advice be?

You might need to think about taking a taxi to the airport instead so that you could go earlier.

Hopefully that's not a Sunday. Things in Italy don't always happen on time, especially on Sundays. The problem is that Malpensa is 30+ miles west of central Milan. So you're pushing your luck a bit, I hope the opera is a good one so that it will at least be worth it if you miss your flight.

That is really tight. Will you already have checked in online and hold a boarding card?
Check the minimum check in time.
I'd take a taxi rather than miss a flight with so many legs.

I agree, take a cab. Btw, don't worry about 3 hours in Frankurt. You won't have to go through customs (since you are within the Schengen zone) and its an easy airport to go through. The only thing that may cause a problem is the normal issues with a very delayed flight that can happen anywhere.
