That's VALIDATE, not USE. I'll be using a Eurail Global Pass this summer. I'll start using it in Paris, after I get to Paris on the Eurostar from London. I am aware I cannot use the Eurail Pass for the Eurostar to Paris, or for any trains in England. I am also aware the pass must be validated (passport # entered, start and end dates of valid travel, etc) before I board my first train. All I'm asking now is: Does anyone happen to know if it'd be possible for me to validate my pass in London, say at St. Pancras, before boarding my Eurostar to Paris? At least that way I could do it in English, not my 50-year-old high school French! Merci! Tom
Hi, The answer is no since the UK is a part of Eurail. No need to concern yourself with the level of your French when having the Eurail Pass validated. In your case (which I have done too), I would have the Pass validated once you arrive from St Pancras Staion on the Eurostar to Gare du Nord in Paris. There are specific "English spoken" ticket counters at Gare du Nord, the signs say so and, above all, for international travel from Gare du Nord. Do it there. That's what I did...no problems.
Thx Fred, bout what I expected.
