Does anyone know what would be the best way to go from Santiago de Compostela to San Sebastian (family of three)? We realize that we'd be more free to make stops along the way if we were driving, but we have about 3 days to do this. Is it too much driving? Is it a nice drive at least? Or would you just hop on a train and sleep the whole way? Thanks!
Hi Beatrice, I walked the Camino in 2010, but I'm not quite sure of your question. Are you asking if you can drive the Camino fm Santiago to San Sanbastian? If so, you'll be going backwards but that really doesn't matter if you're driving. However quite a bit of the Camino is not near any roads, and when it is it is off the main roads into mountain especially in Galicia. Now if you're just asking about traveling from point A to point B that would be different, I recommend the train.
Hi Barry, thanks for your reply.. we realize we'll be going backwards but we need to get to France from Portugal and decided to get to know a bit of the Camino.. or the surrounding area.. but after calculating how long we'll be in the car with a child, we started to wonder if a train ride would be a better choice! Thanks
