Camino de Santiage in Spain transportation

If I fly into either Barcelona or Lisbon how do I get to Sarria or Santiago? I can't get Rail Europe or the Spain rail to give me timetables, etc. If there is train service from both these cities, how long is the rail journey?

I thought the aim was a pilgrimage walk to Santiago? :-) Rail Europe is never the place to look for accurate information. http://www.bahn.de/i/view/GBR/en/index.shtml is the only accurate provider, as far as I know, of information on international and all national permutations of train journeys in Europe. You might also be looking too far ahead. 'If I fly into either Barcelona or Lisbon' - why not Madrid?

My dd and her boyfriend are doing this walk right now. They flew into Barcelona then took a flight to Santiago. They used a tour company to transport them back to Sarria. They started the walk back to Santiago on Saturday. I don't think there is an easy way without another flight from Barcelona, trains and buses Have fun
