I'm looking for recent reports of riding this train, please. The ones here are four plus years old. We plan to go in June. Is it worth it? (It saves a night so we have more time to explore Scotland). Thanks so much

I think they are not worth it, better to take a late train to Glasgow and sleep in a decent hotel there instead.

I haven't used it yet, and the direction London to Glasgow may be different, but if timing is important to you I will say that I am regularly on the line when the southbound Express passes by, and they don't always appear to be running precisely to time.
