I've read that there is a standard fare from CDG to the left bank of 55 euros. Does anyone know if this applies to going to Gare D'Austerlitz and if the fare is set even during rush hour. We arrive at CDG at 8:05 am.

Yes, that covers everywhere in arrondisements 1-20 on the Left Bank, including Gare d'Austerlitz, with no variations on time of day.

Indeed, Philip is right. 55 euros for up to four people and their luggage. 4 euros for each additional passenger.
