Does anyone have an estimate of what cab fare from London Gatwick airport to Waterloo Station would cost?

It would be around 80Pounds. You should take the train in,take the London - Victoria stopping train to Clapham Junction. Then change trains for the short journey to Waterloo. Overall time should be less than one hour. It would be 15Pounds.

Don't even think about taking a taxi. If traffic is heavy, and it likely will be, you'll pay a lot more than £80.

The Clapham Junction station is huge, meaning you'll have to haul your bags around as you hunt for the right platform to catch your next train. Here's a better route: Take a First Capital Connect train to London Bridge. Walk to the other side of the same platform and take a Southeastern train to Waterloo East. Take the connecting walkway to Waterloo International. Fare: £10.50.

If that sounds like too much walking for you, take a Southern train directly to Victoria Station and a taxi from there to Waterloo International. The Southern train costs £8.90 while the Gatwick Express which also goes from Gatwick to Victoria costs £14.90.
