C4 vs C6 couchette tickets

I want to book a C4 couchette compartment for an overnight train from Venice to Paris. Trenitalia seems to be the only site that allows you to book C4, but they have not released the date I want for booking yet. SNCF and TGV-Europe do not allow you to specify, and the compartment they showed me for my reservation was clearly a C6 one, according to the seating charts at seat61.com.

Does anyone know how to book a C4 compartment other than on Trenitalia? Or how to block all 6 couchettes in a C6 so my family of 4 can have the whole compartment?

I am aware of the credit card issues with Trenitalia. I'm somewhat optimistic since seat61.com says Canadian CIBC cards have been proven to work, but I haven't tested it yet. This question is just about seat reservations.

Thanks for any advice.

All couchettes are the same size. The only difference is in the number of bunks that are pulled down. If you pick 1st class on either voyages-sncf.com or tgv-europe.com, you will be able to choose a 4-person couchette and you will have it to yourselves. tgv-europe will mail tickets to Canada.

Thanks for your help, Tim. I just tried that, but the price was E100 higher. Just to make sure, I tried Trenitalia one more time. Got the C4 reservation at the price I wanted and my credit card sailed through with no issues! I have the email confirmation already. I am so happy! I've been waiting to buy this ticket for months and now I have it waiting in the computer for me to pick up at the Venice train station.

I found the answer to the 4 vs 6 berth couchette question at artesia.eu, in case anyone else is curious or is buying from the French site:

"Every Artesia Night train is composed of 10 to 14 cars, depending on the time of year.

The cars are numbered in the following manner :
- sleeping cars: from 91 to 94
- 4-berth couchettes: from 95 to 98
- 6-berth couchettes: from 83 to 89"
