C’è sciopero! (Strikes in Italy, February-March)

I found this Ministry of Transport list of scheduled strikes ( including some air transport as well as trains):

http://scioperi.mit.gov.it/mit2/public/scioperi

My question is whether this is complete, or can more strike days be added? We will be using a number of trains in late February and early March, mostly Frecce trains or Italo. So far I do not see any of our travel dates listed. Does that mean we should be OK?

And if I am reading it correctly, there is a nationwide general strike scheduled for 8 March.

You don't speak italian, do you? Even if they are confirmed, none of those strikes will interest passenger trains. It's mostly freight trains and manteinance staff in Lombardy and Emilia Romagna.

Incidentally, Italo's employees have gone on strike twice in 10 years whereas I can't remember the last time the big Unions could actually stop the Freccia trains. Going on strike is not mandatory.

There is always a strike on March 8. This way the women that want, can take part in the demonstrations of the International Woman's Day without being fired (and being forced to take a day off).

I can read a bit of Italian, but not the technical details. Thank you for explaining, especially about March 8. We will be in Venice that day, having traveled by train the previous day. Maybe I will go find a women’s’ demonstration to join. 🦊

I do book Italo trains by choice when available, as I know they are less likely to go on strike. I was not aware that the Frecce trains are generally unaffected as well.

I see that the airport baggage handlers are scheduled to strike all day on March 17th. I'm supposed to fly into Palermo that day and will have to check a bag. (Thinking seriously about changing to the 18th). Does anyone have any sense for what kind of disruption that might cause?

Thanks in advance.
