We will be traveling by car from Eindhoven Netherelands to Paris France on Christmas Day. What is the best route for sightseeing and are there 24 hours gas stations etc open on Christmas Day?
Here's the reply from my Belgian fiancee sitting right next to me- she says all of Belgium is beautiful, particularly the north (she's Flemish and a bit biased). But, for practical concerns, there isn't that much in the way of roadside site-seeing along the route. Self-service gas stations will be available in abundance, but bring your credit card. Most casual restaurants will probably be closed, and those that remain open likely require a reservation. Your best option is to bring your own food. My fiancee recommends trying Dutch licorice... but I disagree...
Enjoy your trip and see you in Paris, we'll be there too!
