BWI or Dulles To Munich

Hi - I am wondering if anyone has flown this route: either BWI or Dulles to Munich and, return flight, Frankfurt to either BWI or Dulles.

I want to avoid Heathrow. I am not asking anyone to look up schedules for me - I can do that, but I seem to be constantly dealing with Heathrow.

I appreciate any help.

From where you live, they are a toss up. IMO, BWI is a little more user friendly, but you get less European direct flights to choose from.

Thanks, Bob. But, I am asking if anyone has flown this route out of either one of the mentioned U.S. airports without passing through Heathrow.

United/Lufthansa have direct flights to both Munich and Frankfurt out of Dulles ... no Heathrow.

I've been on a UA nonstop flight from IAD to FRA several times. Lufthansa also operate that route...

Perfect! I guess I just hadn't checked the right airlines yet.

Thank you to all!

We flew from Dulles to Munich on our trip to Europe last year. It's an easily navigable airport. I know the S-Bahn goes from the airport to the Hauptbahnhof but I don't know where the airport station is. If you take a cab into town, it'll be around 50 euros.

The S-Bahn station at Munich airport is right next to the beergarden (well, afterall it's Munich). You can't miss it from Terminal 2, where LH, UA and all other Star Alliance carriers fly to. From Terminal 1 follow signs to concourse Z (short walk from all the concourses) and you'll see the green S-Bahn sign. Day ticket to downtown Munich incl. all Munich public transport (for that day) is around €8.80 p.P. and there are even group tickets etc.
