Hi, I'm trying to buy tickets online for TGV train from Munich to Paris this June. If I choose the option to Log In (I need to buy tickets for my daughter also), the site won't accept my phone number so I can't proceed. I've tried several options with area code and phone number but no luck. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what did you do to make it possible to purchase the tickets? Thank you.

run the numbers together with no spaces and no parentheses or dashes.

Try formatting the number as you would dial it from Germany and, as Nigel says, without spaces or other formatting:
00(countrycode)(areacode)(number)

Chris is right, with no spaces, start with 001 and then your 10-digit phone number.

Zoe, the original poster (ski4cycle) does not say what country she is from. It is only 001 to the USA or Canada. Other countries have different country codes.

I've always purchased tickets through DB as a guest, without setting up an account. That also works fine. You can only buy tickets for your daughter if you are all traveling together and booking together in one party. Otherwise, a third party cannot buy an online ticket for a traveler.
