Buying a Thalys Reservation in Berlin HBF

Is it possible to buy a Thalys Passholder reservation in Berlin HBF? Context: I cannot speak French so I can't make the reservation myself (not to mention the expensive international call). I would wait till I'm in Paris to make my reservation, but by then the passholder fares will probably be sold out. So I want my german friend who lives in berlin to make the reservation for me. Also, if he CAN make the reservation, can it be an electronic ticket? Finally, and totally random: How do you pronounce Thalys. I tried to sound it out in English but I just KNOW that's wrong.

Hi Chris. I apologize for being able to answer only one of your questions. It's pronounced TAL-iss, with TAL pronounced like the first part of Talladega.

Thanks, that's totally not what I thought it was!

Try EurAide. Look through their website; I don't know if you'll have to deal with them directly, rail pass in your hand (I'm pretty sure you need the rail pass FIRST in order to make reservations/pay passholder fees), OR if your friend can go there directly...with your rail pass number, for instance. EurAide does NOT do online reservations. I've used them many times while in Europe... IF you want to make Thalys reservations, depending on how early you can make the reservation you can get a regular, 2nd class ticket for less than the passholder fee. Seriously. AND you can do it online, without having to call Thalys by phone. And you could get an e-ticket. You're not the first, nor last, confused by the pronunciation of "Thalys"...;-)
