Buy Back Peugeot

Has any one used a buy back program with Peugeot or one of the others. An acquaintance of mine has used a broker in Maine USA to "Buy a Peugeot" with delivery in France the last time he went. A new car was delivered and he was the "owner" while he drove the car for something like 20 days. The daily cost was $35.00. And then Peugot or a brokerage bought it back. He did have the option to retain purchase with delivery USA. I'd like to know more details about initial costs, final costs, more recent info, etc.

Can't you ask your aquaintance for the details? He probably knows better than anyone here what the details of the program were. If not, he should know where to point you for the information.

I did the Peugeot buy back program through Autoeurope. They are based in Portland, Maine. It was great. It is most cost effective to pick up and drop off in France. Outside of France you pay an additional charge. We picked ours up in Frankfurt. They picked us up at the airport and drove us to where the new car was. All the paperwork is done ahead of time by mail. I just had to sign one paper, they gave me the keys and away we went. It is a program for a minimum period of 17 days. We turned the car in when we arrived in Paris, signed one paper, and that was it. The price included everything - insurance, roadside assistance, etc. There were no additional charges over what they originally tell you. It was a fantastic deal. I had a great experience and would not hesitate to do it again.

Thanks for your leads. My acquaintance couldn't remember the details as it was a couple of years ago. K

Kathleen i have done the lease/buy back
with Renault Eurodrive. Same concept as
Peugeot but different car. We were very happy
with their services, new car, unlimited mileage,
more than one driver (free), road assistance and
full insurance cover. We had a diesel Clio and really
like it, we did great mileage with it. Good luck!

Thanks I have enough info for now. Renault site really user friendly...gives quotes up front. Peugeot wants all your sign-in info first. Autoeurope appears to be for travel agents only. I'm just in the "can we afford it" stage of planning. 2 person Renault can be only $47.00 a day. K

Autoeurope is not for travel agents only. If you are having problems figuring out their website you can call them at their 800 number. I just reserved two cars online with them for our upcoming trip with no problem. I also did the lease online with no problem four years ago.

I leased a seven passenger Renault Grand Scenic II in the fall of 2005. I can't remember if I leased through autoeurope or just started there. Both Peugeot and Renault can be leased directly online as well as through autoeurope. There is something about the French tax system that makes short term leases (must have the car at least 17 days but no longer than 6 months) a good deal for everyone.

The cost wasn't $35 per day but might get close to that for the smallest model. We leased 22 days picking up before leaving Amsterdam and dropping in Rome before heading into town. Total cost, including pick up and drop off charges (since both were outside of France) and full CDW (included in the price whether you want it or not) was $1,400.

The pick up in Amsterdam went smoothly enough. The drop off in Rome was typically Italian. The guy was nowhere to be found so we spent more than an hour tracking him down.

The 2 person Renault was $9xx.xx for the first 21 days which figured out to $47ish; but was a really good deal after that at $24. a day. The Autoeurope site I went to had to have a travel agent code # to access. How do these costs compare to just renting? I think the unlimited mileage with the buy back might be the difference. PS I finally found right autoeurope site. Thanx again for all good info.

The fact that the lease is all inclusive it a big deal. No extra insurance, no extra charge for an extra driver (for Autoeurope it had to be a spouse, child, parent or sibling to qualify), roadside assistance. The amount they quote is the amount you pay. You get a NEW vehicle, that you choose when reserving. They don't try to give you whatever they have on hand when you arrive. I still don't know why you can't access the Autoeurope website without a travel agent number. Try calling them.
