As there is no longer a direct train from Ljubljana Solvenia and Venice, we are looking for recommendations among the bus lines that offer a direct connect. Thanks

If you don't find the direct connect, you could take the train the Villach then the direct bus to Venice. An easy trip as the bus will be waiting right outside the train station. Check the DB site.

Yes, the train/bus combo is a possibility, but we are hopeing to save some time and $$ with the direct route. On the internet I ran across the bus service mentioned by Eric plus a couple of others. Thought that someone might have taken one of them. We do this at the end of the month so will report back and how things go.
