Bus travel from Munich to Zurich

Has anyone traveled by bus from Munich to Zurich? I usually would prefer the train, but in researching this trip it seems that the buses run more frequently and take less time. I am concerned about adequate restrooms and the ability to by food or snacks on the bus. Also, once arriving in Zurich, where does the bus leave you off? We will be staying at the Marriott and will be traveling with a few suitcases. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I wouldn't expect either on a bus.
This line is slow, and is currently being upgraded, which is making it slower and reducing the capacity. Hence the buses to fill the gaps.

I too would not choose the bus. The train also gives you the option to stop off on the way, for example in Lindau.

At both ends the bus stations are "round the corner" from the rail stations, a few hundred metres walk.

The bus is faster in theory - sometimes actually in reality too. But often it is stuck in a traffic jam, and that practically always during it's transit from the Austrian motorway across the Rhine and the border to the Swiss motorway, which runs through the middle of the small town of Lustenau. The last two times in this summer I spent at least 45 minutes for the 5 or 6 km (and no, there's no extra lane for the bus).

On the bus there is one toilet for all - so democratic! Snacks yes, food in proper sense no. The train, on the other hand, carries a Swiss dining car with an excellent menue, like we would wish for the German ICE (but will never get).

Drivers of inter-city buses often request that passengers not use the on-board toilet. I speculate that the tiny closet on a swaying bus could easily lead to a mess for the driver to clean up. Food? Not likely. But sometimes there can be music and even movies to keep you from catching that snooze on an over-nighter.

Buses from Munich stop at the Sihlquai bus station, which is just north of the Zurich Hauptbahnhof. It is actually closer to the Marriott than the Hbf. Walk north along the Sihl river about 250 feet and you will see a pedestrian bridge over the point of the Sihl and Limmat rivers. The Marriott is directly in front of you across the bridge.
