On Oct. 26 we are arriving by train in Pontorson, planning to go on to MSM for the night. The next day we plan to take a bus back to Pontorson for a train to Paris (via Rennes). We already have train reservations. From what I read, there is frequent bus service between Pontorson and MSM, but now I can't seem to find any indication of it. Postings I've found have been a year old. Does anyone have current info on this bus service?

On your return to Paris you don't need to go via Pontorson. You can take a bus operated by SNCF (French National Rail) from Mont-St-Michel to Rennes and a train from Rennes to Paris. See the detailed timetables on the German Rail site.
