Bus Transportation from Milan Italy Airport to Milano Centro Train Station.

Has anyone out there had any problems with Malpensa Express? Namely with missing luggage.
No claim tickets issued for baggage being transported, and is this allowed?

What kind of a question is this? The Malpensa Express is a train, not a bus, and it runs to Milan's Cadorna station, not to Centrale. If you checked you luggage on the Express and are looking for it at Centrale, you'll might wait forever. As far as I am aware, rail companies that transport luggage only say that they will get luggage to the destination in three days! That's why most people carry their own luggage on the train themselves.

Anne, It would help if you could elaborate on your questions! Did you experience the problems you're describing? The normal practice in using the Malpensa Express is to put larger luggage on one of the racks at the end of each car, keeping smaller items with you. I've never noticed any staff members issuing "claim tickets" on the train, as passengers look after their own luggage. It's possible there could be "missing luggage" if you don't "keep an eye on it"! On the topic of "Bus Transportation" using the Malpensa Shuttle" from Milan / MXP to Milano Centrale, again no "claim tickets" are used. The driver will place larger items in a "hold" under the Bus, and smaller items are carried on-board. Cheers!

Before we decide Anne is all wrong. Juno should be using his computer skills to see if another "Malpensa Express" had opened. I could be dead wrong but through that I read in one of the travel magazines a few months that a rail line to the Central station was about to open. Have not seen or read anything else. But it may be a possibility, However, I have never seen luggage checked on any train especially the airport trains. Just carry you luggage on. Checking would be a big hassle.

Frank, I believe another direct rail link from Malpensa to Milano Centrale will be commencing on 13 December 2010. This will be in addition to the Malpensa Express.

There is a bus company running what they call the "Malpensa Bus Express". Maybe it is that to which she refers.

Perhaps OP will fill in details on what is a pretty confusing question (rant?).

There will be at least two trains directly from Malpensa airport to Milano Centrale. One leaving Malpensa at 12:22 and the other at 19:22. I believe they are going to add more trains but I don't know when. Here is a link to the current service " http://www.trenitalia.com/cms/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=901887de74aab210VgnVCM1000003f16f90aRCRD "
. Do a google search, there was an article back in September or October about the train service to and from Malpensa including when additional trains would be added. We took the train from Florence through Milano Central to Malpensa in October of 2010.

I have taken this bus! They will not allow you to bring aboard any luggage other than a small bag or small backpack. You leave your bag curbside and someone from the bus company loads it. I remember hating doing this, I never check bags and don't like to lose control of it. Here is where it could have gotten dicey for the OP. Before stopping at Centrale, the bus makes a quick stop at another train station. At that point you have to trust your bag won't be stolen or inadvertently taken off. Even when you get to Centrale, they start unloading bags well before everyone can unload. I remember thinking two things. This is an accident waiting to happen and I will never do it this way again. I feel bad for you Anne.
