I purchased tickets online through Megabus. The confirmation they emailed me gave me an itinerary number, and it says to be ready to present the number to an employee at any time. Does anyone know if this confirmation page and/or the itinerary number is my only ticket, or do I have to go to the ticket window at the station and have them issue a "real" ticket from my itinerary number?
When I traveled with Megabus this past spring (three trips) I only gave them the itinerary number. I never had to go get a ticket.
I would recommend being at the bus a little early to grab and seat and stow your luggage. On a trip from Glasgow to Inverness there were more people with tickets than seats and some people (who showed up 5 minutes before the bus left) had to take the next bus.
Your itinerary number/receipt is all you need.
